This mobile is made out of engraved shattered glass. While a baby's mobile is safe and sweet, this is colorless and dangerous. The glass is secure, but its sharp edges suggest a threat. The engraved phrases are examples of how things imprint on you through life. They can be wonderful or break you. Those thoughts and memories swirl around in the mind. As you process them, you may experience tachypsychia (the feeling of the world slowing around you during a traumatic or stressful event). The slow spinning motion of the mobile is meant to mimic how we process and how difficult that can be. While the shattered pieces are secured, they are not permanently fixed to the mobile. Over time, pieces will fall and shatter. In this way, some phrases will stick with you, and some will leave. In those empty spaces, something new will come.
